PARKROYAL Parramatta: A Super Handy Luxury Hotel With A Cool Pool

Parkroyal parramatta family review

In search of a super central hotel in Parramatta which can offer all the creature comforts?

The PARKROYAL Parramatta is so very handy to everything, there’s no need for the car, you can walk everywhere you need to go.

Mind you, the affable hotel manager, Michael Johnson, also recommends bringing bikes as there are so many great biking tracks nearby, all very suitable for families..

I was lucky enough to be invited to stay at the PARKROYAL recently, here you’ll find my thoughts on the hotel with plenty of photos to show you what it’s like.

Then click here to read all about the many fun things to do in Parramatta with kids.

So, let’s have a look at this 4.5 star Parramatta hotel through the Hello Sydney Kids lens.

3 Best Things About The PARKROYAL Parramatta

  1. Location: The PARKROYAL is on Phillip Street, around the corner from the wonderful Church Street Eat Street precinct. It’s just a two minute walk round the corner to get down to the Parramatta Riverside too, with its walks, bike rides, playground, ferry and many eateries with gorgeous river views.
  2. Luxury and space: The PARKROYAL is one of the top rated hotels in Parramatta, rooms are spacious and service and facilities  is as you’d expect from a 4.5 star hotel.
  3. The cool pool: I loved this! The pool is fairly small, about 10 metres long, but the area around it is spacious, with lots of loungers and, the best thing, the vertical garden is so beautiful.  More pix below.

Can I recommend the cappuccino brulee, with white chocolate snow, coffee beans and chai dust.

Bar 30 and Bistro is on the entrance level and looks very inviting, but I didn’t sit down for a drink myself, tragically. Drinks and lunches are served here, and there’s live music on Fridays and Saturdays.

Room Service is available with a wide variety of modern Australian dishes on offer including a kids menu. A $4 tray charge is levied.

The hotel’s food offering compete with the MASSIVE variety of restaurants right on the doorstep, however…. so prepare to feast when you stay.

The (Lovely) Pool

You’ll find the pool on Level 1, with a divine vertical garden, it gets very busy on weekends when many families stay. The pool is not heated.

I think I got a bit carried away taking photos of the pool and garden wall from all angles!

The Gym

There’s a very spacious gym with a good variety of equipment on Level 2.

Business Facilities

There are business facilities available 24 hours a day in the lobby, plus a Club which is good for working or for meetings.  Club Rooms give access to this. But if you are visiting with kids, you won’t need this little luxury. Switch the phone and laptop off, come on.

NB I stayed as a guest of the PARKROYAL Parramatta and would like to thank them for their hospitality. I do love a break from the drudgery of home… especially when it involves cappuccino brulee and such a central location in an interesting and vibrant part of Sydney.
